Copy Abilities and permissions

Kirby has the ability to take on the aspects of whatever he swallows, and he does not need to inhale it first. Not everything has a power that he can take (otherwise, he'd keep turning into food all the time), but a lot of the time something or someone can grant him its power, whether it likes it or not.
This is called Copy Ability, and the potential variety is limitless. Most of the time, you'll know if Kirby is using a Copy Ability because he usually is wearing a hat and/or costume relating to said Ability. Copy Ability can be extremely powerful, allowing him to use powers usually exclusive to other people, and he can even combine two Abilities together to use aspects of both at once and if the source of power is potent enough, he can even use a disgustingly strong version of it called Super Abilities. Even unique artifacts can grant Kirby power.
However, Kirby can also cough up what he eats as well, so he won't destroy anything irreplaceable or kill whoever he eats. So if he eats something he shouldn't, don't worry. :)
This means that Kirby can gain powers from his enemies, his friends, and the environment. Here is a list of canon Copy Abilities, and canon Super Abilities, so you have a better idea of what Kirby is capable of. Thus we come to permissions:
What powers can your character, character's attacks, or character's items grant Kirby, should he eat them?
Remember, you don't have to be an enemy to give Kirby a Copy Ability. Tossing him a torch to grant him Fire, for example, is perfectly legitimate. Also, don't feel pigeonholed into giving him a canon Ability, if a new one would fit better. If you feel that he should get Forklift from eating a forklift, then that's fine; Kirby can deal with new and rare powers.
Are any of those Super Abilities?
If the source is strong enough, it may count as a Super Ability.
Is there anything Kirby should watch out for if he uses any of the Abilities?
Pretty much self-explanatory.
What can those Abilities do?
The meat of the permissions! When Copied, what is Kirby's capabilities?

Rimudo's primary Celestial power is the ability to control wind, and being a Celestial Warrior also makes him a bit tougher/stronger than the average human. He's also a deft fighter and tends to carry around various weapons.
Are any of those Super Abilities?
Considering that Rimudo has canonically created two massively destructive tornadoes (and also instantly slaughtered hundreds) using his wind powers, I'd say yes.
Is there anything Kirby should watch out for if he uses any of the Abilities?
....is it terrible if I say he should watch out for becoming a femme!Kirby...
What can those Abilities do?
Wind: The ability to control wind at various strengths, from light wafting breezes, to flying/floating (himself and other people), to cutting scythes. He can also hear and smell things carried by the wind from further distances than an ordinary person would. So Wing and Tornado, probably.
Toughness: Extra HP for Kirby, maybe?
Weapons: Probably just basic Sword ability, combo'd with Fighter? (Though if Kirby eats Rimudo's memento sword from later on in the series there will be pain coming his way until it's coughed back up.)
This post hasn't been used since forever. |3
Date: 2013-12-14 04:22 am (UTC)Hmm, so Sword, Fighter, Tornado, and Wing? That's quite a variety from one person. I suppose with a little liberty taken this could also extend to Cutter (the scythes) and High Jump, so yeah.
The army-slaying tornado would likely grant a Super, I'd agree. Maybe call it Raging Hurricane or something?
Well, since you said that the worldhopping was only mostly blocked, this comment just might become relevant sooner than you'd expect. :)
Glad I could add to it!
Date: 2013-12-14 05:06 am (UTC)Rimudo's just a multitalented guy! And yeah, I considered throwing Cutter in there, since his wind gusts often take that shape and he fights pretty proficiently with a bladed discus at one point, but things are overkill enough as they are.
Aw man, he has names for some of his attacks but I'm forgetting what they are. Let me check the volumes real quick.
Yes we will see. :)
*cleans the cobwebs*

Date: 2013-12-14 05:34 am (UTC)It actually doesn't matter what the name of an attack is when it grants an Ability. You could have an attack named Salty Toothpick, yet is really a fireball, and it would grant Fire when eaten.
If that guy shows up? That would be the firs time Kirby could have access to the actual Copy Copy Abilty since appearing on DDD! Whoa. o_o
Man, Combination Abilties, and a Super of Tornado... these two need to meet in person and kick lots of ass together. It'd be glorious.

Date: 2013-12-14 05:43 am (UTC)...Is the Copy Copy Ability actually a thing...
Glorious and gory. Rimudo is not a clean fighter, sob.

Date: 2013-12-14 02:56 pm (UTC)M-M-M-Monster Flame over Fire. Hence, Raging Hurricane. ^_^;I'm not kidding. Go to about 2:43 on that video to see it in action. It ALSO means that you haven't gotten that far into Kirby Super Star, or you would have known about it.
It's not like Nintendo will find out about Rimudo, right?

Date: 2013-12-14 08:04 pm (UTC)And man, I completely forgot about that thing and how much I hate the stupid partner-stealing ninjas who give it to you.
Not Nintendo, no. /side eyes the completely horrible PS2 otome game...

Date: 2013-12-15 01:39 am (UTC)Great Cave Offensive was Offensive in some parts
*rimshot*, and it was the weakest main game of the original Kirby Super Star.Even if it did gave us those weirdass bosses.

Date: 2013-12-15 01:42 am (UTC)Well, it's my journal, so. :p
Date: 2013-12-15 01:46 am (UTC)A mini-Metroidvania that's not obnoxious and you can get the Deluxe Abilities in any order, capped off with an epic boss? Darn tootin' that's great!
psst, get Copy firstSorry, didn't think I was ranting that much. We can leave off if you want!
Date: 2013-12-15 01:54 am (UTC)Noo, let the anger flow through you
Date: 2013-12-15 01:58 am (UTC)"What, no!"
"Wh, why not?"
"I don't feel like it!"
But I have so much more anger for later games in the Kingdom Hearts series!
Date: 2013-12-15 05:04 am (UTC)Also that video is amazing.
And its fandom. X_X
Date: 2013-12-15 01:10 pm (UTC)I have always liked that Meta Knight thought that he can conquer and hold an entire country with just one ship. Perhaps he was counting on the citizenry's laziness?
/edges slowly away from Tumblr...
Date: 2013-12-16 02:52 am (UTC)...looking at Dreamland's inhabitants that isn't that far off a bet.
You value your soul. Good mun!
